You will be asked to take the medicines for 7 – 10 days. Take note that you should continue with the medication even when the symptoms get a lot better.

The antibiotics will help kill the bacteria causing your strep throat and will help shorten the contagious period. It will also help eliminate complications. The bacteria causing your strep throat can spread into the other parts of your body – sometimes causing more serious conditions like rheumatic fever.

Strep throat treatment antibiotics will also speed up the healing process of your throat. Other non prescription drugs like anesthetic throat sprays and acetaminophen will help you with the discomfort that goes with having a strep throat. It will also help bring down your fever – if you have one.
